Spelthorne Design Awards
The Spelthorne Design Awards were launched in 1994 and are run by Spelthorne Borough Council in conjunction with SCAN. SCAN is actively involved in promoting good design. In the category ‘Access for the Disabled’, which is intended to recognise schemes that greatly improve access for disabled people, Wycliffe Noble represents SCAN on the judging panel. Schemes can receive an award, be highly commended or commended. To uphold the quality of the scheme it is proposed that the awards will be on a two-year basis commencing in 2006.The Awards are intended to act as an incentive to the management of properties to encourage them to be positive and practical in their approach to the problems of people with a disability. It is intended as a form of recognition where management have voluntarily exceeded the regulations of the Building Regulations.
